On May 10, a One-Point Seminar for Passing the Statistical Investigation Specialist Examination was held at Shiinoki Cultural Complex, with students and general participants aiming for certification taking part.
This seminar was part of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's "Digital x Double Major Graduate Education Development Project," which was adopted by the Graduate School of Human and Socio-Environmental Studies. Following an opening address by Professor Haruyuki Kojima, Dean of the Graduate School of Human and Socio-Environmental Studies, lectures covered fundamental topics in official statistics, how to interpret and utilize statistical data, and key points for the examination. Participants actively engaged by asking questions about technical terminology and official statistical survey methods, demonstrating strong enthusiasm throughout the session.
Successful candidates of the Statistical Investigation Specialist Examination will be eligible to apply for the entrance exam of the Data Privacy Expert Training Program, which will be launched by the Graduate School of Economics in 2026 academic year. This seminar provided a valuable opportunity for participants to receive direct instruction from four distinguished lecturers who were involved in writing and editing the official textbook for the examination, Practical Economic Statistics: Professor Masato Aida (Shiga University) Professor Isao Takabe (Rissho University) , Emeritus Professor Fumio Funaoka (Shinshu University), Emeritus Professor Yasuto Yotsuzoe (Aoyama Gakuin University)
