On May 16, Kanazawa University held a title ceremony to award the title of “Kanazawa University-certified Venture” for X Cube Solutions Co.,Ltd (X Cube Solutions). X Cube Solutions aims to establish a global recycling-oriented supply chain, and provide increased value by strengthening GX and Sustainability initiatives through the introduction of cellulose resin products.
X Cube Solutions is a start-up company created by utilizing the research and development results on the project "Co-creation Platform for Circular Economical System Supported by Completely Recyclable Plant-derived Polysaccharide Plastics" led by Professor Kenji Takahashi from the Faculty of Biological Science and Technology, Institute of Science and Engineering, selected by the "the Program on Open Innovation Platforms for Industry-academia Co-creation (COI-NEXT)" of the National Institute of Science and Technology Development (JST). It was certified as a Kanazawa University-certified venture as of May 12, 2025.
President Takashi Wada handed the title certificate to Ayano Kaji, CEO, and the Certificate plaque to Seiki Fukudome, COO. In addition to Professor Takahashi, CTO of X Cube Solutions, Trustee Shinichi Nakamura (in charge of research, social co-creation, and graduate school support) and Vice President Kunio Matsumoto, CEO of Vision Incubate Co., Ltd.*, which was involved in supporting establishment of X Cube Solutions, attended the ceremony.
Afterwards, members of the company explained their business activities and future aspirations, and a conversation followed.
*Vision Incubate Co., Ltd.: A venture capital company established in August 2023 by Kanazawa University with 100% of its own capital.
